Okay, I confess, I do pick green tomatoes in anticipation of the new harvest……….. I just get excited. I pick green apples, grapes that are not ripe………. oh well, it just seems you wait and wait and wait. It is so much fun when they are fully ripe. We have a ritual of going out each day and enjoying what is fresh. Chomp, chomp, chomp right there in the garden or in the orchard. I love the burst of energy that fresh delicious food gives me.
It is hard living here in the Northwest as I would love to have the harvest of fresh food all year long. But we are fortunate in many respects in having a mild climate, good water and relatively low air pollution.
I hope this blog and the website will empower you to do even a little gardening – like one pot on your window or deck. Or if you are gardener, you can learn new ways to grow more food with less work that is of the highest quality.
